“Colonna Castle was perfect for us, but is quirky and could imagine some people may be less enthusiastic. 'Quirky': it's more like a 6 star B&B in the personal interaction one has with the owners - like living in their house; and the food was perfect for us - we opted to eat dinner their every eveing because of this, but it's unusual to be asked each morning if/what main course we would like to eat and then to receive a personalised menu that evening with one's choice thereon. As I say, it's quirky compared with a standard commercial hotel - highly recommended on that basis.”

“The rooms were very unique and nice and the beds were very comfortable. The upstairs breakfast area was delightful and the views were impressive. It is a bit far from the center of Cape Town but it is close to False Bay which has a nice beach area and is a nice walk from the hotel.”

“Colona Castle is wonderful. It kind of felt like staying at your rich aunt and uncle's house. Nicole, the owner, brings a designer's eye, attention to detail and high end service to the entire hotel. We were a little nervous with our small kids and beautiful antiques that she would be uptight. She wasn't, she was kind but firm about what they could and couldn't touch and always gave them alternatives to play with. We stayed in the Safari suite, the room was beautiful and perfect for our family. It couldn't have been more comfortable. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and they went out of their way to accommodate the children. It is true that the location is 30 minutes from Cape Town, but for us it worked out well. We had a car and wanted to see the Cape, not just Cape Town. All and all, we felt very well taken care of. The decor is beautiful, the staff is amazing and we simply couldn't recommend Colona Castle more highly.”

“I loved the vintage look to it and the feeling of being at home. The view from the outside balcony was breathtaking. They took good care of us and made sure we had a wonderful stay. I surely recommend it to my friends and family and probably visit it back one day.”
