The Mandarin Oriental Munich is one of the finest, best-staffed hotels in which we have ever had the pleasure of staying. It was perfection.

Maybe it's just me but I hated this place. The rooms were so-so but the reception area, which is adjacent the bar, stank of cigarettes and I could not get my bedroom to the right temperature. This place could have been a ritz carlton or any other mid-high end chain hotel. Nice (but very standard) bathroom - but the whole place was just completely devoid of character. Not your average Tablet Hotels experience.

Lovely room, location, staff. Lived up to expectations with all the little details that seduce

We liked the location of the hotel and the hospitality of the staff (also towards our dog!!!). As mentioned in the reports, staff is really friendly and helpfull.

From the moment we arrived the hotel staff was nothing but helpful and friendly. We are not demanding travelers by any means, yet they went out of their way to accomodate us. The staff spoke perfect English, which was quite helpful. The location is quite convienient, being on the edge of the Marienplatz area and the Maximillianstrasse shopping. Shopping, dining, and tourist sites such as the Residence and English Gardens were easily within walking distance, yet far enough away to allow us to get away from crowds. The Marienplatz train station, with access to the S-bahn and U-bahn lines, was only about a 5 to 10 minute walk.
