Great hotel! Food was fantastic!
-
Service at the restaurant is very slow and unattentive. The food is well below average.I would not stay there again.

I had a mid-week stay, which was quiet and pleasant. Everyone told me I was smart to avoid the weekend scene, when Sunset Beach becomes a mini Hamptons. There was nothing the staff could do about the weather, but they took care of everything else with great aplomb and little fuss. Really nice people. On the sole evening when the sky cleared the location lived up to its name, spectacularly.

i love the vibe of sunset beach...the service, the location, the experience...BUT the rooms are pretty cheaply put together, especially for the price. i could very clearly hear conversations upstairs from me. my front door had a huge gap in it so everytime someone walked by, it sounded like they were in my room. the couch had water / mold stains on it. it felt more like a funky motel that you would pay $75 a nite for...not $350 a nite.

The room was excellent, the bed very comfortable. The breakfast could be improved, fresher products. More healthy options. the concierge could be a little more informed.

Main area of room was okay, but showing wear. The bathrooms were decrepit. Moldy and/or missing grout, ancient and very cheap/flimsy fixtures. The kitchen was a joke. The fridge and sink were so rusty and moldy, they should seal it off as a hazardous area. Though the outside spaces and the main part of the room were pleasant, in my opinion the state of the bathrooms and kitchens does not meet the standards of Tablet, by a wide margin. If I were you, I would remove this hotel from your recommended list until those deficient areas are renovated.

sunset beach is outrageously priced for what it is (a simple motel), but it was a pleasant experience nonetheless. staff were extremely friendly &efficient. problems: rm walls incredibly thin: you'll hear EVERYthing. don't expect to rest or sleep there.screen door on terrace fell off when we first tried to use it. they need to attend to basic things esp for the price. restaurant really great though outrageously priced. at least food was good &open air setting extremely luxurious.
-
We enjoyed the hotel, however it was extremely frustrating that it was only partially open - no bar, restaurant etcHotel could have also done with a pool
-
The bed linens and furniture in the room were of good quality, and the overall decor was what you'd expect from and Andre Balazs hotel. Nice views from the room onto the water.
-
The Hotel is well designed with a very simple stylish feel right on the beach.
-
location and funky vibe secluded
-
Great location, close to the beach.
